Nebraska is a new rock musical written by Kevin McGarry. It's about Charlie Starkweather and Caril Anne, young American serial killers that inspired 'Natural Born Killers' and 'Badlands'. It's a twisted and dark piece of theatre, with an original rock score written by Kevin, with songs by myself and Neil Mackay, musically supervised by the awesomely lovable Gabe Antonacci. What really makes this little show sizzle is the guidance of the incomparable Adam Brazier, who is really coming into his own as a visionary and inspiring director.
I wrote a little number for the show that has been worked into a wonderful musical scene, and without giving too much away, brightens the sombre mid-section with some classic Abrahamson schmaltz. Kevin's rock tunes really help the story cook, and the story of these young lovers/killers is truly compelling.
The stage is graced by writer Kevin, and the very attractive Lindsey Frazier. Of equal attraction is Geoffrey Tyler, who plays multiple roles and brings his incredible musical ability with live instruments onstage.
